RiskFactors

Natural Hazard - How It Strike and Destroy?

Severe and extreme weather and climatic phenomena are considered Natural Hazards. Although they exist everywhere in the world, some areas are more susceptible to specific hazards than others.

When a natural disaster destroys people's lives and livelihoods, it becomes a disaster.

Natural hazards are events that occur naturally and cause harm to people, property, and the environment. These events can include hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, and tornadoes.

The risk from a disaster is a convoluted function of three parameters viz. Hazard, Vulnerability, and Value and it is defined as:

Risk = Hazard * Vulnerability * Value

Natural Hazard

How much a Disaster Affect Mankind

Environmental Impact

Natural hazards can be devastating to the environment, causing massive destruction of ecosystems and habitats.

Social Impact

Natural hazards can cause loss of life and injury, changing communities and people's lives forever.

Economic Impact

Natural hazards can lead to massive damages and losses that burden the economy of an area and potentially the entire country.

Unpredictable Nature

Natural hazards can strike anytime and anywhere, without warning, making them impossible to predict accurately.

Social Training Program for Disaster Management

Natural Hazards, in general, cannot be avoided, and life is Invaluable.
Hence, we cannot do anything about these two factors.

We can reduce the vulnerability by building a resilient built environment and providing education regarding Hazards and how to mitigate them.

Along with providing solutions for resilient infrastructure that can overcome extreme natural hazards in a short time, our focus is also towards increasing awareness about the causes of Natural hazards and means to mitigate them. We are using a three-pronged approach to increase awareness

Education to school and college students

By raising awareness, promoting mitigation strategies, and fostering community engagement, we can empower the younger generation to become proactive agents of change in building disaster-resilient societies.

Training to engineers

Training engineers on natural hazard mitigation is a pivotal step in building a safer and more resilient world. By equipping them with specialized knowledge, hazard analysis tools, and cutting-edge design techniques, we empower engineers to lead the charge in creating disaster-resistant infrastructure.

Workshops for Natural Hazard Mitigation and Management to different areas of society.

Our aim to educate diverse sectors of society on safeguarding against disasters, they learn about risk assessment, resilient infrastructure, and nature-based solutions.
