He is a Civil Engineer specializing in Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. He has a total of 5 years of Industrial experience and 5 years of teaching experience.

At the start of his career, he worked as an Application Developer at IBM.

During his Ph.D., he have been involved in projects related to Seismic instrumentation, Earthquake early warning systems (EEWS), and Seismic site characterisation using MASW.

The current EEWS deployed in Uttarakhand, which is also the first in India, was developed by him in his PhD.

His other areas of interest are Structural Health Monitoring and integration of AI/ML in disaster mitigation and management systems and technologies.
